Joint statement from Navitas and Study Group
International education providers Study Group and Navitas today announce they have signed an agreement for Navitas to acquire Study Group’s interests in Taylors College Sydney, Taylors College Auckland, and the University of Waikato College. The sale is subject to certain conditions, including the satisfaction of competition and regulatory bodies.
The colleges offer pathway courses to degrees at the University of Sydney, the University of Auckland and the University of Waikato, and attract talented students from around the world. Under Navitas ownership, current and future students will continue to be taught by existing college staff and the programs will continue to be recognised as qualification for admission to degree level study by each university.
The proposed transaction is consistent with the strategies of both companies and both are committed to a seamless transition for current and future students. The Study Group and Navitas teams are working closely with university partners and other stakeholders to facilitate this.
A further announcement is expected to be made following completion.
Scott Jones, Group CEO, Navitas:
“We are very excited about today’s announcement which consolidates our position as the region’s largest pathway provider.
We very much look forward to welcoming these three colleges to the Navitas global community and working with these highly respected university partners to support their internationalisation strategies and ultimately increase access to higher education for international students.
Our priority now is ensuring that the transition of ownership is as seamless as possible for the staff and students at the colleges.”
