I went back to the campus of my alma mater, and to be able to work with them felt really, really good because it felt like connecting back with family.
Hello, I’m Rodrigo Garcia Rojas Villegas, and I’m the Head of Marketing Services for University Partnerships North America.
Can you tell me when and how you came to be working with Navitas?
I actually have a long history with Navitas. I was a student back in 2007. I took the program at Fraser International College here in Vancouver, Canada. And then after I graduated, I started working with Navitas in 2016. I learned about that job opportunity through Sharla Reid, who was my counsellor at that point. She’s now the College Director. And, it was in the arena of marketing communications, which, that was part of my studies. and I was interested in developing even further professionally in that area. So I decided to apply and it felt like going back home, to be honest.
What is one of your favourite memories working at Navitas?
One of my favourite memories about working in Navitas…Well, there’s been so many, to be entirely honest. I’ve been able to see a lot of our colleges and work with a lot of my colleagues. But it has to be my first day working in Navitas because I went back to the campus of my alma mater and I saw a lot of the people that were there and were a key part of my development as a student. And to be able to work with them felt really, really good because it felt like connecting back with family.
Since then, I’ve had many great memories with lots of colleagues with our partners. So, it’s hard to choose, but I’ll, I’ll definitely go with my first day.
How has working at Navitas made an impact on your life?
Working at Navitas has had a huge impact in my life. It has definitely helped me shape the person that I am today and the leader that I try to strive to be. I’ve been able to learn from so many colleagues on a daily basis, on what they do and not only in my area, but you know, the other functioning areas around our industry, around our business, that it’s incredible, the amount of wealth that I’ve been able to absorb just from, you know, coming into the office. So, it’s definitely had a huge impact.
What are your key professional achievements during your time at Navitas?
My key professional achievements while working at Navitas…I would have to say that right now I have the honour of leading a team of creatives, that we work on so many projects and so many creative things that, you know, it has to be up there and being able to learn from them and to work with them on a daily basis that it has been an achievement in my career, to be able to help them navigate. Also, some of the projects, the relationships that I’ve made have shaped the professional that I am today and the leader that I try to be.
So, developing relationships and being able to work on many creative projects has been one of my key achievements while working in Navitas.
