Biggest professional achievement… I also won an award for my work here at UA92 Global and was nominated for the 2022 Education Investor Awards Women to Watch.
Can you tell me when and how you came to be working with Navitas?
So, I finished my degree at the University of Exeter. I spent a year as SU President, and then some friends who were already working for Navitas and who rang me up and were like, what are you doing? What are your plans? And so they said, we’re opening a new college in Plymouth and we wondered if you were interested in maybe interviewing for a role. And I’ve never really left. I’ve moved around colleges and I’ve worked at four of our partnerships in UPE over 15 years, which feels like a very long time. Yeah, that is how I fell into Navitas.
What is one of your favourite memories working at Navitas?
Well, I’m going to say, probably there’s a lot in 15 years, but probably my favourite memories of Navitas probably revolve around the people in Navitas that I’ve met, that I’ve worked with, I’ve worked for, that I’ve managed to support, and among the people that we’ve managed to develop and bring into our teams.
But if I was going to probably pick a memory, it’s probably quite a recent one here UA92, being able to watch our very first set of graduates, three years in, who have represented everything that UA92 Global is about and what UA92 is about. So yeah, that would probably be my favourite memory.
How has working at Navitas made an impact on your life?
So I think for me, I think it’s been very much about the opportunities that I’ve been given – the opportunities to excel, progress and to move around, experience new roles, upscale far quicker and far more diversely than I maybe would have done in other roles, other industries or other organisations.
And I think that has enabled me to build, you know, a really wonderful career over the years in Navitas and experience and work with lots of people across lots of different partnerships and just really get a real breadth of experience that I don’t think I would have got elsewhere.
What are your key professional achievements during your time at Navitas?
Probably my lasting professional achievements in Navitas have definitely probably been the kind of culmination of the first 11, 12 years of being at Navitas. All the things I learned, sort of the three partnerships I’ve worked with in that time and all those roles, and getting to take all of that and put it into UA92 Global and create something really brand new, really unique and from scratch. And I think that was probably…biggest professional achievement.
I also won an award for my work here at UA92 Global and was nominated for the 2022 Education Investor Awards Woman to Watch. So yeah, they’re probably my biggest sort of achievements.
