Careers & Industry staff ‘Cook for a Cause’
Food rescue organisation OzHarvest welcomed Navitas Careers & Industry staff into their Sydney kitchens recently to help “Cook for a Cause” as part of a mutually beneficial team building exercise providing restaurant-quality meals to people in need.
Led by OzHarvest chefs, three C&I teams worked together to create three gourmet dishes of vegetarian samosas, a Sri Lankan pork curry and beef ragu with polenta. The meals, transformed from rescued ingredients, were then delivered to local charities for distribution.
C&I staff, in Sydney for the division’s two-day annual Strategic Planning Forum, enjoyed the opportunity to learn new skills and work together in a meaningful way to contribute to a such a worthwhile cause.
OzHarvest helps fight food waste by rescuing food from a network of donors, such as supermarkets, restaurants, hotels and airlines. Using environmentally friendly food preparation and cooking practices, the organisation delivers meals free of charge to charities across Australia while inspiring and educating people about food waste, security and sustainability.
