ARU celebrates double nominations for THE’s prestigious awards

Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) has once again been nominated for awards in two prestigious categories by Times Higher Education (THE). This announcement follows last year’s remarkable achievement of being named the Times Higher Education University of the Year.

This time, the university has been nominated for two research projects, shortlisted in the categories of International Collaboration of the Year and Research Project of the Year (STEM).

The first project is an international collaboration between more than 100 ophthalmologists and optometrists led by ARU’s Professor Rupert Bourne. The work has been shortlisted for the International Collaboration of the Year category.

The second project, by Professor Barbara Pierscionek, demonstrates cutting-edge research into using nanotechnologies to treat macular degeneration, one of the most common causes of sight loss worldwide. It has been shortlisted for the Research Project of the Year (STEM) category.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony in Birmingham on 28 November. The two research projects in the spotlight are stellar examples of ARU’s commitment to advancing knowledge and improving lives through innovative research.
