ECC Foundation leads to Bachelor of Preclinical Foundations of Imaging Science at ECU
The Foundation Program at Edith Cowan College (ECC) can now lead students directly into the first year of the Bachelor of Preclinical Foundations of Imaging Science study at Edith Cowan University (ECU).
Bachelor of Preclinical Foundations of Imaging Science is part of a 4-year offering accredited by the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR). Prior to the first clinical placement, students will need to apply to be an Accredited Student Sonographer. Upon completion of the Bachelor of Preclinical Foundations of Imaging Science (T78) and the Graduate Diploma in Medical Sonography (T77), students are eligible to upgrade their status to be an Accredited Medical Sonographer. The Graduate Diploma in Medical Sonography at ECU will commence in 2027.

Foundation Entry Requirements when packaged with the degree:
- Completion of year 11 or 12 or equivalent
- IELTS of 6.5 with no band below 6.0 or equivalent
- ELICOS package NOT available
Upon completion of ECC Foundation Program, students need to achieve the following to enter the Bachelor of Preclinical Foundations of Imaging Science at ECU:
- Foundation Program WAM at 80%
- IELTS 7.5 with no band less than 7.0; or TOEFL (iBT) 94, with no score less than 24 for listening, 24 for reading, 27 for writing and 23 for speaking; or PTE-A 72, with no communicative skill less than 65
