Navitas prepares for upcoming mandatory UK Agent Quality Framework
In 2024, the UK government endorsed the recommendations from the Migration Advisory Committee (MAC) review, including the implementation of the new UK Agent Quality Framework (AQF) as a mandatory requirement for all UK international education providers and UKVI student visa sponsors that engage with agents.

Led by the British Council, BUILA, UKCISA, and UUKI, the new UK Agent Quality Framework was developed through extensive research involving students, education providers, advisers, and agents. The framework is designed to enhance collaboration between the UK education sector and agents, promote best practices, and improve transparency across the industry.

To support this initiative, Navitas took the UK International Education Sector’s Pledge and updated its agreements and policies in line with the UK Department for Education recommendations. A Student Guide to Choosing an Education Agent and a list of all contracted agents were also added to each Navitas UK business unit’s website.
All agents will soon be required to complete the British Council UK Agent and Counsellor Training or an equivalent approved course. Navitas also recommends obtaining Agency Accreditation through ICEF, an internationally recognised quality assurance program, and undertaking professional training via the ICEF Academy.
As the UK Agent Quality Framework will soon be a mandatory requirement, please ensure you’re prepared.
