Pride Celebration at Curtin College
Curtin College was proud to hold a memorable Pride Celebration on campus in June, which was marked by a festive gathering. The event was an opportunity to celebrate LGBTQIA+ unity.
At Curtin College, students and staff observed this day by dressing up in bright and vibrant attire and participating in various activities, including a Pride flag painting session and other pride-themed crafts. They were treated to various delicious food, drinks, and snacks. Curtin College also had the honour of hearing from LGBTQIA+ community members who were happy to share their stories of hope, knowledge, and acceptance.
Pride, also known as Pride Month, is an annual celebration held in June. It commemorates the Stonewall Riots of June 1969, which were pivotal in the fight for LGBTQIA+ rights. Pride continues to highlight the diversity of the LGBTQIA+ community.
Curtin College believes in the power of community and the importance of celebrating diverse backgrounds. The Pride Celebration exemplifies the college’s commitment to fostering a vibrant and inclusive environment for both students and staff. This unity and shared experience enriches the college’s campus life, and aims to make Curtin College a place where everyone feels valued and connected.
